The Sun Kings

A Beatles Tribute as Nature Intended

Lafayette Art & Wine Festival – Bank of the West Stage

Sunday, September 22, 2019

3:30 pm – 6:00 pm

Considered one of the premier Beatles Tribute acts in the country, The Sun Kings continue to amaze their fans and win over skeptics with their uncanny channeling and respect for the music they perform.

With a repertoire of over 150 songs, and spanning the entire Beatles epoch – from Hamburg to the Rooftop – The Sun Kings shine in concert with spot-on arrangements and vocal harmonies delivered with a driving energy, joy, and vitality that recall the earliest Beatles performances.

Jay's Band Notes about The Sun Kings

So there’s the Beatles and then there is everyone else! They played their last official concert at Candlestick on August 29, 1966. 25,000 tickets were sold. Of course, each of us know 25,000 people who said they were there.

Well, think about this: Since the Sun Kings started closing our Bank of the West Stage down at this annual festival, they have played to way more than 25,000 people here in Lafayette. Having the Sun Kings take us home each year is perhaps our most important “tradition” we have. With a repertoire of over 150 songs they cover most of John and Paul’s songbook.

I read a quote that said “The only band that could come that close to doing Beatles music, would be the Beatles!" Join us at 4:00pm on Sunday, September 17th and you can honestly say YOU WERE THERE.
